3G Speaker Training Program

WEDU (“We Educate”) is 3GNY'S flagship educational initiative that empowers grandchildren of Holocaust survivors (“3Gs”) to learn and compellingly share their family's Holocaust experiences with students and community groups.

Created in partnership with Facing History and Ourselves in 2010, the WEDU program has trained over 500 3Gs to engage with the community to deliver impactful, personal presentations. Our speakers have reached more than 60,000 students and community members since the program’s inception. Building on this success, 3GNY now partners with Living Links, the national 3G network, to expand access to our acclaimed Speaker Training Program by administering it on a national level to reach 3Gs everywhere.

The Speaker Training Program is a 4-week educational course for you to learn how to share your family's Holocaust experiences with students and community groups. You will be provided with tools for storytelling and family research materials that include the vast USC Shoah Foundation Visual History Archive. Support is available throughout and after the course. After completing the course, 3GNY places volunteer WEDU speakers in classroom and community settings to share their stories and lessons with others.

Apply for an upcoming cohort here, or sign up for the Speaker Training Interest List by clicking here and filling out the form at the bottom of the page - Living Links, our national training partner, will keep you posted on upcoming class dates. Once you complete the training, you will be added to 3GNY’s active WEDU Speakers Bureau!
