We're thrilled to welcome Sharon Cooper, who will share how her grandfather miraculously survived the Holocaust as a Jew from Lodz, Poland. She will also discuss his experiences in numerous labor camps. Sharon learned most of her grandfather's story by spending time with him and learning from his photographic memory. She traveled back to Poland to retrace family steps to see Lodz, the work camps her grandfather survived, as well as Treblinka, where her great grandparents perished.
Sharon is a grandchild of two Holocaust survivors and is in constant awe of what they went through and how they persevered. She has always strived to preserve their story and becoming active with 3GNY and going through WEDU was the perfect way for her to do this. Sharon enjoys sharing her story in schools and meeting the students and teachers from all around New York City. She is grateful for the interest and appreciation shown to her by the students. Sharon holds an MBA from Fordham University and a BS in Marketing from American University. She is currently the director of marketing for The Cliffs Climbing + Fitness.
